When he was still a long way off, his father saw him. His heart pounding, he ran out, embraced him, and kissed him…
Luke 15:20 .The Message

Dear friends,
I have the honour to go out again this year to spend 3 weeks with Bishop Sadiki in Rwanda and to work with his church in Kigali, the capital city. I have been working with Sadiki for many years now and each year we have seen real steps forward in Christian discipleship, answers to prayer and seen God’s miraculous hand at work.

This time I believe God will be revealing more of his love and purposes for his people so that they will grow in love, trust and service in the Spirit. He wants to free them from living out of religious traditions and legalism so that the church there can become a model “feasting place” of God where prodigals can return and are embraced by the Father.

Rwanda suffered terribly in the genocide of 1994, but God says where sin abounds, grace abounds much more. Although it is now the second most developing country in Africa there many still face poverty and spiritual darkness. God wants to bring forth a new model: a true loving, victorious faith community where Jesus reigns and brings freedom and hope.

Please join me while I am away through prayer as co-partners with the Lord in His work. Please pray in particular for the following:

1. God will bring lasting breakthroughs: set captives free to love and serve Jesus and that the Holy Spirit will manifest Himself among us and glorify Jesus;
2. Church Leaders in Kigali: For Bishop Sadiki who leads the church, his leaders and flock that God would continue to protect them from attacks, strengthen them and bring them into the unity of the Spirit;
3. Guidance for the mission in Rwanda: wisdom for ministry, possible radio programmes, visits, baptisms, weddings etc;
4. Protection: for myself: travel, health, provisions, a close relationship with the Lord, times to rest. God’s covering protection for Kathy at home and Helena in Aberystwyth.

We are partners together with Christ – Remember your prayers can change a nation – James 5:16-18. God bless you – the Lord will reward you for your prayerful support and I will let you know exactly how your prayers were answered when I get back!

Thank you so much! David Palmer
