Prayer letter - Rwanda Mission Nov 11th-30th Nov 2010

And in the days of these kings the God of heaven set up a Kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” Daniel 2 v 44.

On the 11 th November I return once more to Rwanda to work with Bishop Sadiki and serve in his Kingdom vision for the nation. He is the Father to many “Family of God” churches in East Africa. These churches were birthed out after a prolonged visit from Sadiki and his wife Violette to Tavistock in 1998.

Over the last two years’ visits we have aimed to lay foundations, similar to Alpha, into the lives of believers, helping them to follow Jesus. The legacy of former missionaries has been to see people “saved” but without the equipping to make them radical discipleship to Jesus. This has meant leaving intact old strongholds of darkness. Remember that “churchgoers” carried out much of the 1994 genocide.

We long to see these shackles of fear, grinding poverty and exploitation broken.

Praise God, that the Holy Spirit brings revelation and power from the Word of God, to touch lives, changing them from fear, greed or despair to loving obedience to God, mercy and forgiveness to others and towards spiritual authority into the communities.

I thank God for another opportunity to continue this work with Bishop Sadiki. I will be working particularly in Kigali, a model church of the kingdom: teaching, baptising and helping make true disciples to Jesus. I will also be making a number of live radio broadcasts on Christian radio. Who knows what else God is preparing – so please would you stand with me in prayer?

  1. For the gospel to set captives free, re-direct lives into God’s direction and be accompanied by signs following with Jesus central and glorified;
  2. For myself: to live under God’s anointing, protection, and discernment of his voice in every situation; for travelling mercies: both in the air and more particularly on the roads;
  3. For the family: Kathy and Helena while I am away: for peace, protection and blessing, under the covering of the blood of Christ;
  4. For Bishop Sadiki: for health and protection and strength for the mission and the follow up;
  5. For the church in Kigali: to be a catalyst for the nation, to be hungry to move on with God, for their unity and discipleship to Christ;
  6. For the Radio broadcasts: that the gospel will be preached effectively and reach everyone whom God wishes to reach with a message of life and hope;
  7. For God’s provision of finance, prayer support, energy, wisdom and joy!

Thank you so much for your love, fellowship and support. May you be richly rewarded! I look forward to sharing with you when I get back the things the Lord has done. Your prayer can change a nation!
