CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS!
We're looking for photo contributions of local interest for inclusion in the popular Christmas King's News calendar.
The King's News magazine is a free, high-quality, full-colour magazine that goes out twice a year. We print over 6,000 copies, most of which are hand-delivered through the doors of most homes and businesses in Tavistock (and some surrounding villages). For the last ten years, the Christmas magazine has included a 24-page wall calendar in a 2 x A5 format. The top A5 page is the photo with a bible verse; the lower page has a one-month diary page with an advert (see examples right).
The Christmas calendar edition of the magazine is very popular. Your photo could end up appearing on walls all over Tavistock!
We can't offer you any money for using your photo - however, you retain copyright of your photo, and we'd credit your work with brief contact information (website and/or phone number).
We're especially interested in photos of local events or landscapes. We live in a lovely town in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, and we try to have the calendar reflect that. Photos of events and scenery in and around Tavistock are preferable, but anything portraying the South-West will be considered!
Key points to consider: -
3. Your photo will appear with a bible verse of our choosing printed on it (see samples).
If you want to e-mail me photos for consideration, please send low-resolution versions at first - 800pixels x 600pixels at approx. 80% quality would be ideal. Most image viewing software has a resizing facility, or you can do it on-line at http://www.pixlr.com/editor/ - do contact me if you're having problems and I'll try to give you some useful advice! At the risk of stating the obvious, make sure you don't overwrite your full-quality image in the process!
Deadline for photo submission: Fri 19th October 2012. We aim to start delivering the magazine late November/early December.
Do contact me if you want more information - e-mail me on firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone me on 01822 610570 (leave a message with contact details if I'm not there).
Thanks for your interest!
