Sunrise International brochure now available - click here for details GREAT LAKES AFRICA MISSION - NEWS AND THANK YOU FEB 2008 Thank you for your interest and support while work has continued January in Uganda.
There has been progress among the village ministry to orphans, in maternity care and in the new ‘church’ at Sunrise. The restaurant was opened officially by Asaba the mayor of Fort Portal on Jan 25th, with many of the town’s leaders supporting with their fellowship at the meal. We have employed the local Christian people from architect, builder to groundsmen and waiters. We now carry care for 17 employees. Thank you to Alan and Heather Hall for their advice and encouragement. Now they feel they must leave and take their teaching ministry to Kampala. Dilly has risen courageously to take management. Now all the staff are black Africans and nearly all with no experience. They try so hard! Please pray the Lord will over-rule our failings and bring it all to His glory and provision to GLAM ministry. As I’ve stood against corruption and been spoilt by God’s blessing it has aroused problems. There have been accusations, slanders and threats. Also thefts, rumours and criticisms. The Lord has , as usual, turned them into blessings resulting in new, friendly relationships with the police, CID, Internal Security, Presidents rep, politicians, radio presenter, a judge and the mayor. I do thank God for your support and prayer! Please keep going! It’s my life-line! The radio announced a new church was starting at ‘Sunrise’; 40 folk arrived that Sunday! Now up to 70 come each Sunday morning. I explained the Lord starts churches but let’s worship Him. Do pray for our sensitivity to God’s will and obedience that He may build! There’s a great need for other groups to pick up the village work for MATERNITY CARE at Kahangi, with the ORPHANS’ CARE at Gweri and Malaria and TB at NTOROKO CLINIC. May God stir up others to help. Involvement can be as big or as small to suit your group. Then there’s the schools, churches and hospitals so grateful for visits and any help.You’ll be overwhelmed with gratitude and affection!
