AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TAKE IN TWO THOUSAND AND EIGHT!

As I sit to write this to you on New Year’s Day I’ve been praying for Bishop George Gichana, Eldoret, Kenya where news is that over 200 have died in post-election riots. Pakistan reels from the assassination and subsequent deaths while suffering and deaths continue in Iraq and D.R.Congo. A gloomy year ahead? Or one with a tremendous exciting anticipation?

Kahangi village: Mum & Dad and 13 kids live on £10 a month so medical care is impossible

Sunrise Apartments - opening Jan 25th 2008!

Jesus, the King of Glory said there will be wars and rumours of wars, earthquakes, famines etc then He will return to skies with a mighty army of angels, the trumpet of God and we shall be re-united with Him and His people. Maybe in 2008 we shall be astronauts by the power of God! (Matt.24., 1 Thess.4) We have a wonderful hope, our God is in control! So let’s enthusiastically serve Him while we are waiting! Our labour is not in vain, God is not in debt to us!

Great Lakes Africa Mission (TCC, Tavistock) have seen the “Papa’s Medical Centre” established and becoming popular in Fort Portal and the clinics we supplied for Evie (Outreach To Africa) serving the town and district. Another is ready to go at Kampala slums where Pastor Chris and staff do a great job. Thanks you for your prayer and support. God knows what a difference you have made! Charlie and Teresa run a Saturday morning book and bric-a-brac sale at Kings. They pay wages for two doctors and six nurses!

Bukavu, D.R.Congo: Sadiki has worked tirelessly in this difficult place and now the Medical Centre we gave in 2003, bombed and looted, is repaired and ready for supplies. God bless Sadiki! We only need £7,000 to send the next container. By God’s blessing we have sent 6. One more please Lord!

Kahangi: Pastor Julius and Grace have the maternity clinic half-built at great sacrifice. 4 or 5 mothers a year die in child-birth. We’re making progress but would your church like to help? Or take over?

Gweri: Pastor John and Alice continue making bricks and saving hard to build a home and school for many orphans left as parents die from aids. No work, banana beer, promiscuity and adults are dying. As we try to provide for the children and work for the adults your help would be a tremendous encouragement. Again you could make this your project and we’ll be delighted to help you.

Ntoroko: Pastor Jacob has paid himself for a building and some supplies for First Aid Centre. The village has real problems with TB, Malaria and HIV. He’s praying for cash to continue.

Sunrise Apartments and Restaurant International: Joy and myself return Monday 7th to furnish and equip the Sunrise ready for the Mayor to open it 25th Jan. It’s been a long struggle and financial challenge but we hope all our ‘Muzungu’ friends will come and the profits help the medical, educational and church ministries. We plan to give you two weeks Safari holiday for around £1000 + airfare. Please come. Please help. We can tailor it to suit your party. Ask for a brochure. Check our website. Plan a mission in hospitals, schools or churches. You’ll love it! Bishop Sadiki hopes to be there to celebrate the opening with us. Pray for him. He’s a wonderful man of God with a huge task.

Please keep praying for our wisdom, safety, integrity in a corrupt society, and anointed word as we preach and advise among the churches.

God bless you in 2008 with as much joy, faith and progress as you can take...then a bit more!

We love you and thank you so much,

Colin and Joy.
