Gifts from South Petherwin

A big thank you to Mrs Muriel Parsons and her friends who, as you can see from the pictures, have been very busy. These dear ladies meet once a week to knit blankets of various sizes from little baby blankets up to adults'. The pictures are of the first visit I made to Muriel's home, about a year ago. And I was invited to talk to the ladies (and sample some of Muriel's lovely home made pasties) which I did. Since then the group has been supplying GLAM regularly with blankets and clothes. We have been distributing the blankets all over the world through various other small charities (see the 'Aid update' article to see other parts of the world we've been able to help).

On Monday November 21st 2004 I and my fiancee Immaculee, along with our daughter Stella, visited Muriel's home once again. The group donated another 36 blankets, some of which will be going out to a village in Macedonia before Christmas. We spent a very pleasant four hours with Muriel and her friends, and arrangements have been made for us to collect more blankets early in the New Year.
