new unfolds on every visit to Africa. There is always a surprise
around every corner. It is easy to be daunted by so many new
challenges yet our Father God always has new opportunities
and blessings in store.
We
have been called into a great work that God is doing. Each
visit the work seems to become greater. The challenge to trust
for an ever expanding ministry is a great one. This time the
surprise was to find an international team being drawn together
to serve God across six countries. Bishop/leaders, Sadiki
from Rwanda, Bosco from Kenya, Hezroni from Tanzania, Evie
from Uganda/USA, and Dave & Colin from England have discovered
God joining their hearts with the love of Jesus and a shared
vision for His work across Africa.
Sadiki
and Dave traveled Rwanda and D R Congo encouraging many pastors
and believers in their progress in church life. Evie and Colin
worked 3 weeks in Uganda establishing medical centres, education
and encouraging churches there too. The four arrived in Kenya
to fellowship with Bosco and bring encouragement to his pastors
and people. Dave returned to UK, the rest of us journeyed
on to meet Hezroni in Tanzania.

his
final pastors’ conference was marked by their sacrificial
devotion to the Lord Jesus and His Kingdom. Some traveled
2 days arriving penniless to sleep on the hard floor of the
church with just a cloth over their bodies to keep the mosquitoes
at bay. They endured the poverty, fatigue, simple meals, and
discomfort of great heat and humidity to hear the Word of
God. Their earnest desire for the Kingdom of God made a real
impact upon the visiting team. Then many had a two days journey
home and not a penny in their pockets. As they trusted God
for the hot, dusty, bumpy drive home, can you blame us for
giving them the last of our money?
For
the first time in our travels the check in demanded excess
baggage payment. We were in a spot! After considerable debate
and persuasion we were allowed to fly back to Nairobi without
paying. At Nairobi Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s chauffeur driven
care awaited us! We were taken back to the best accommodation,
best food, and the best service for the entire trip. God’s
provision was the best and thank you Margaret.
