RE:CREATION!!

Fun 'n' games

Re:creation is the best camp to go to!! Those who missed it missed a great deal of fun, praise and worship. There were 3 non-Christians in our group, but by the end of the camp 2 of them became Christians - the 3rd is still on the edge.... There were about 90 people, and about 20-30 non-Christians, and the majority of them have now become Christians!

The worship was great!!! One night you could see that God was sitting down beside everyone, he was touching everyone in their own little way. HE'S GREAT!!!! Some people were on their knees crying but they were all in God's presence just being free with him!

Da boyz...

After all the worship we had a bit of free time to do what we wanted, then there was a show called "The Fringe". It must have been the funniest show I have ever watched. It made everyone laugh their socks off!!!!!!!!! This year their catchphrase was "MONKEY BITE!!!!!!!!"

You were able to go to optional seminars (eg. women/men of God.), but if you just wanted to be with God you could go and sit on the field, ask someome to pray with you or you could go into the prayer room. Some of the days we did activities such as horse riding, beach games, mud challenges and climbing.

On the last day we had to get everything packed up so we could get home, but people were sad to see their new friends go so they were crying!!! Everyone wanted friends to turn around and come back and stay forever!!!!

(Don't ask...)

My 1st trip to Cross Rhythms

When I arrived at Cross Rhythms I was shocked to see so many people there, I was surprised to know there are so many Christians in Devon. I can now see why Christianity is the biggest faith in the world. I was even more surprised to see that people had traveled for miles to go there; John & Debbie Phillips came all the way from the U.S.A. to tell us about their niece Rachel Joy Scott. She was tragically killed in the Columbine shooting because she was a Christian along with 10 of the 12 twelve others that were shot after her, all because 2 kids were filled with the evil spirit & hatred! (I got both of the books & they're both upsetting.)

The bands were cool, I didn't know that you could get Christian rock bands that are so cool. I just had to buy a CD & I've never bought a Christian CD before in my life so that's saying something (my favourite is MIC at the moment).

The services were cool too. The main one I went to was the power/pain one that basically says that power = pain and pain = power; the man who was talking kept on adding humour which made it even more cool. He was also saying that some people want God's power more than they want God's heart & friendship (are you one of those people?). Some people have been made obedient through suffering. He said if I put my hope in anything or anyone apart from God I could be let down (girlfriends spring to mind!) & things tend to be HYPED, which may also let us down.

Cross Rhythms has increased my faith in God so much and I will say amen to that!

Andy
