Come and unwind in the spectacular landscapes of
"The Pearl of Africa"

There are 600 different species of bird at the ’Queen Elizabeth Game Park’ that embraces Lake Albert and Lake Edward. The Kazinga Channel, about a quarter of a mile wide, joins the two lakes and it is teeming with wild life. There’re elephants, buffalo too numerous to count, so many hippos swimming about that your boat has to be careful not to hit them, crocodiles, impala, Ugandan cobs, waterbuck are all around and if you are lucky you may see a leopard stalking the wart-hogs! You’ll just want to stay a while and soak it all in.

Nearby to Sunrise Apartments are the spectacular crater lakes, deep lakes set like jewels among fantastic scenery. Then there’re the hot springs you can cook on, the primate reserves, tropical birds and butterflies, King Oyo’s palace to visit, mountain trekking in the Rwenzoris, the Semliki nature reserves and the really wonderful scenery of Africa in the west of Uganda. Sir Winston Churchill called this place "The Pearl of Africa", and so it is. A visit can be arranged to see the Silver-back Gorillas, 3 or 4 hours drive away.

Aome and stay in Paradise with us at the ’Sunrise Apartments International’. We are next door to the President’s Lodge on a hill in Fort Portal where the views will leave you breathless and you’ll just want to chill out, sit back, relax and enjoy looking across the banana plantations and red-roofed houses to the great Rwenzori mountains. The apartments are modern, tiled throughout and self-contained. Everything we can do for you will be done by our pleasant and attentive staff, and meals are ready for you at the restaurant below at prices that will surprise you. You will find here the pound/dollar go a long way - a good restaurant meal can cost £2-3. (You can check the exchange rate on www.newvision.co.ug on the internet.) Each apartment has a complete glass wall giving you a wonderful panorama. Bring your binoculars!

We’ll try to tailor your holiday to suit you, especially if you’d like to help in schools and hospitals or churches. A two-week stay should cost you no more than a £1,000 ($2,000) plus your airfare. This enterprise has been established to help fund the ’Great Lakes Africa Mission’, the mission arm of Tavistock Community Church, establishing medical centres and schools among the churches (more info at www.kingnews.org.uk). We promise you a wonderful, unforgettable holiday for all the family, so do call us on 01822 616625 for a brochure or to arrange a visit.
