Introduction

Great Lakes (Africa) Mission - fondly called GLAM! - is the mission work of Tavistock Community Church. The church sends medical and educational supplies around the world. They send their members to encourage churches and, when possible, supply material needs.

Joy, First Lady, Colin
Pastor Colin Bond and his wife Joy meet the First Lady of Uganda in their trip to that country in June 2004.
East & Central Africa map

The work of GLAM has been especially focussed in six countries - Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, D.R. Congo, Burundi and Rwanda . They have helped establish schools, computer training facilities and clinics, and encouraged many churches. Now about 200 churches, 300 pastors and 50,000 people affectionately welcome them and appreciate their help.

The work started in 1997 at the request of Pastor Zacharie Sadiki in Rwanda. David Palmer, co-pastor with pastor Colin pioneered the work then the whole church took up the responsibility, prayed and gave and watched the work expand across Central Africa.
