Based
in Kigali, Rwanda, The Family of God churches spread across
Rwanda, Uganda,
Congo and Burundi along with other Churches who are confederated
with Family of God. The leader of these Churches and the confederation
is Sadiki Zacharie (pictured below at a genocide memorial).
Genocide
In 1994
there was a terrible genocide of over 1 million Tutsi and
some Hutu tribes-people. Both tribes, who are indigenous to
Rwanda, are now picking up the pieces of the devastation and
trying to reconcile differences. With so many children left
as orphans and wives left widowed and unemployment at something
like 85%, what can be done to relieve suffering, hardship
and despair?

We believe
the first thing that needs to be achieved is forgiveness,
which will bring reconciliation, enabling the two tribes to
work together towards rebuilding a shattered country.
The love
of Jesus is the only hope for true forgiveness that will unite
these peoples. When the crimes are so personal, how else can
we forgive?
