Dr. Jonathan Oloyede is head of City Chapel church in East London, and convener of Global Day of Prayer London. Born in Britain and brought up in Nigeria,
Dr Oloyede is a medical doctor by
profession and called as a missionary to
England and Europe. He was radically saved
within the wake of the revival that hit the
Nigerian universities in the 80s and
responded to the call to Europe in 1991
whilst on a 3 month holiday in London. The
Holy Spirit visited him with a clear message: “Jonathan, you are not in England by
accident but you are here by Divine design.
You are part of my recruitment to this
region of the World in preparation for the
coming of my Son Jesus Christ. Therefore
drop your agenda and pick up my
programme.”
Several years ago, Dr Oloyede had several
vivid visions of renewal, revival and
transformation coming to the UK. These
included graphic pictures of Wembley
Stadium filled to capacity with worshipping
and praying Christians. The inspiration
which sparked him into action was a vision
of people all over Britain praying the Lord’s
Prayer at the same time; in pubs, churches,
schools, offices, homes and on the streets. As
the Christians prayed in one accord, Light
and Healing spread across the British Isles.
This vision led to the National Day of
Prayer, which took place on 29th September
2012 and was attended by over 32,000 Christians.
NB: Dr Oloyede is also speaking Sun 12th May 2013, 7pm at
The University of St Mark & St John Chaplaincy Centre,
Derriford Road, Plymouth PL6 8BH - click here for a poster.
