Come
and unwind in the spectacular landscapes of
"The
Pearl of Africa"
here
are 600 different species of bird at the ’Queen Elizabeth Game
Park’ that embraces Lake Albert and Lake Edward. The
Kazinga Channel, about a quarter of a mile wide, joins the two
lakes and it is teeming with wild life. There’re elephants, buffalo
too numerous to count, so many hippos swimming about that your
boat has to be careful not to hit them, crocodiles, impala, Ugandan
cobs, waterbuck are all around and if you are lucky you may see
a leopard stalking the wart-hogs! You’ll just want to stay a while
and soak it all in.
Nearby
to Sunrise Apartments are the spectacular crater lakes, deep lakes
set like jewels among fantastic scenery. Then there’re the hot
springs you can cook on, the primate reserves, tropical birds
and butterflies, King Oyo’s palace to visit, mountain trekking
in the Rwenzoris, the Semliki nature reserves and the really wonderful
scenery of Africa in the west of Uganda. Sir Winston Churchill
called this place "The Pearl of Africa", and so it is.
A visit can be arranged to see the Silver-back Gorillas, 3 or
4 hours drive away.
