Plans
of hope
Hannah
Parsons tells how God’s promises bring peace when plans fall
through...
od
gives us an amazing hope for life even when we go through difficult
circumstances. As many people who may know me or my family
will know, I was due to get married this summer, but sometimes
in life things don’t go the way we plan them. I didn’t get married
and the way I’d planned my life had an abrupt change to it. But
amazingly I have come through this experience with God’s help.
Although
only a few months down the line things are still difficult for
me, I have a sense of peace and calm because I know God is in
control and has a plan for each and every one of us, including
me. It says in the bible in Jeremiah 29 v 11: "For I know the
plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and
not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
t
can be very difficult to understand when something bad happens
to us how God can allow that, when He says that He
has good plans for us not evil ones. But I know that God has better
plans for me than the ones I tried to plan myself, because He
made that promise to me in this bible verse, and God doesn’t lie.
Sometimes
in life when going through difficult times we come out the other
side as a stronger person. But it is always good to have encouragement
from other people and that’s what I have received here at Kings,
as well as from my family. If you are going through a difficult
time ask a Christian you can confide in to pray with you. If you
don’t know a Christian then try coming along to a church. That
may be a scary thing to do, but receiving God’s love and healing
in your life will help you to know that He has given you hope
too.
