guess we all can look back to adolescent days when life was full
of hopes, ambitions and ideals, or was I alone in those hopes?
How have you fared over the years. Some realised, some shattered?
I’m
(just!) old enough to see our first great-grand child. We celebrate
with joyfulness with the parents, grand-parents and even the great-great
grandma! What hope is there for this little man in the world he
has come into? Remember the hopes you had for your children when
they were born?
What
is there to hope in that has some security these days? As we celebrate
another Christmas and look toward another new year, can anything,
anyone be trusted in this rapidly changing world? Well, Jesus
said, "Heaven and earth will pass away but My Word will not
pass away." Behind all the calamities we see of floods, earthquakes,
wars, diseases, greed for wealth and corruption in high and low
places and at home money problems, kids problems, neighbours,
health and house problems yet Jesus promises to give us peace
and vision for the future. He promises to turn every circumstance
into good for those He’s called and loves.
he
God Who started it all, Who created this planet and universe,
is bigger than its troubles and is not a bit phased because
He has a master-plan that is ticking exactly toward His conclusion.
He allowed Satan so man could have a choice to love and obey his
Father-God. Man chose the wrong ’boss’ and now the planet suffers,
we all suffer! Jesus came, never gave in to Satan’s rule (see
temptations in wilderness) and established His power and authority
in the Earth (Matt.28.18). Problem is, He does not enforce that
authority, He leaves us with the choice, as with the first man.
Those who choose His authority, His plan for life find an amazing
new hope. There is hope! This life is not the end, it’s preparation
for the next. As I write our dear friend Ruby, who tells stories
in every King’s News, is now telling her stories in Jesus’ presence.
Her great hope is now realised and continuing into eternity.
uby’s
choice opened up a life of love and hope. Our choice, your choice?
The Community Church here at the King’s works to reveal
the deceptions and show the way to choose a life with the King
of kings, an everlasting life where death is no longer a mystery
or a bogey to be afraid of, but an entrance to another life of
great joy. Plans for a new ’Alpha Course’, for more residentials
and camps for young people, new developments for The King’s are
programmed to help everyone discover the choice that gives eternal
hope. "The Choice is Yours!"
