I’ve
discovered that I must be the world’s worst beggar! I’m just no
good at it! So let’s try another technique: why not build apartments
with a restaurant in a beauty-spot in Paradise? Then encourage
people to have a wonderful holiday at a bargain price yet put
the profits into funding the hospital/schools work of ‘Great Lakes
Africa Mission’.
The
apartments are nearing completion, due in July 2007. They are
20 feet by 15 feet with a balcony 15 feet square where you can
breakfast under the warm sunshine of Central Africa. The rooms
are fully equipped with toilet facilities and microwave/toasters
etc yet all meals are provided at the restaurant below.
We
are about 1½ hours from the Queen Elizabeth Game Park and close
to the Crater Lakes, King Oyo’s palace, Primate Reserves and Hot
Springs. Or you can just relax and soak in the wonderful views
all around the apartment.
After
staff training we plan to open end of September and be ready for
all the excitement in Uganda as the Commonwealth Heads of
Government meet in November. Remember we are 3,000 feet up near
the Rwenzori Mountains close to the Equator. There’s a wonderful
climate - always around 20-30° all year round. Come any time!
