The
Climb
Synopsis:
Two hotshot mountain climbers forge an uneasy friendship in order
to reach their ultimate summit. A daring rescue just earned flamboyant
Derrick William’s (Jason George), the climb of a lifetime, but
his dream comes with an unwanted partner. Safety man Michael Harris
(Ned Vaughn) rarely takes life to the edge. Media attention forces
training to take a back seat in their fire-and-ice relationship.
But no amount of training can prepare them for the harsh reality
of the Chilean Andes...
here
are very few films being released these days that you can sit
down and watch safely together with your family, or in fact
feel happy to let your children sit alone to watch. But ’The Climb’
is a film where you do not have to worry about what the next scene
is going to bring. You can sit down with your family, and feel
completely relaxed and happy watching, knowing that there is going
to be no bad language, sex scenes or over-the-top violence. I
have watched ’The Climb’ twice now with my 7 year old daughter
Stella, and we both enjoyed it immensely. It is a very fast-moving
film, both in the story and visually, so like me you may need
to watch it more than once. Because believe me if you blink or
close your eyes for one second you will miss something.
This
is one of the best movies that I have seen in a very long time.
The special effects are excellent, and the scenery is absolutely
stunning. ’The Climb’ has been produced and released by WorldWide
Pictures of Billy Graham Association films. And though it is aimed
at the Christian market, I would recommend it to any of my friends.

The
Search for the
Real Mt. Sinai
ttracted
by the description ’How they crawl into forbidden military installations
and use night vision goggles to avoid being detected...’, and
by the price of only £9.99, I eagerly sought out this DVD at the
Launceston Christian bookshop. It’s about two explorers who take
an expedition into the Arabian Desert to find the real Mount Sinai,
the holy mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments from
God.
Although
never doubting the story, I had not thought there would be any
physical evidence that it had happened. The documentary is a real
eye-opener, the visual evidence emphasising in a graphic way the
awesomeness of the exodus and the truth of it. But the real Mount
Sinai is a closely guarded secret in an Islamic country where,
should the discovery of it capture media attention, it would seriously
challenge their faith.
