The
Festival is Back!
fter
one year out to support a separate festival held in Reading, our
popular local music, seminar and arts festival, Cross Rhythms,
is set to return to Risdon Farm, Jacobstowe (near Okehampton)
once again this year, bringing family entertainment with colour,
fun, drama and the very best music from top bands and artists.

Chris
Cole, who heads up the Cross Rhythms organisation said he was
"very excited about the return of Cross Rhythms festival
to the South West region. When we didn’t hold the event last year
we got much feedback that people genuinely missed it. We’ve already
started booking some of the best contemporary bands around as
well as some established speakers".
To
be held the weekend of July 18-20th, the festival line up includes
one of the biggest names to emerge from Manchester in the last
year, the rap dance rock outfit known as Thebandwithnoname, who
recently undertook a mammoth 57 gig tour. Also booked are Chichester
based Sabio and youth speaker and organiser of the famous 24/7
Prayer initiative, Pete Greig. From North Devon come hard rockers
V12 and from Tavistock the band Escapade. Along with girl pop
act Cathy Burton; soon to be chart debutants Superhero; Oasis
speaker Danny Brierley; garage/hip hop djs Soulcure, the festival
also sees the return of American based Tony Fitzgerald, a minister
who communicates with an amazing level of love and authority on
the nature and character of God.

Many
more artists are yet to be booked but the event is already shaping
into something for us in the South West that promises to be a
highlight of the year. Commented Chris: "Over the last eleven
years the festival has been established in Devon, but has been
seen by many as a national event. Now, after a year out we feel
it’s right to relaunch the event more as a South West initiative.
We have plans for a further ten similar festivals across the country
over the next five or so years."
A
Devon-based committee is already functioning to coordinate the
event and Chris says they are keen to hear from any churches or
Christians who would like to help promote and work alongside the
committee to re-establish the festival this year. We need you
and your church, to make the Cross Rhythms festival the greatest
contemporary christian arts and music festival in the South West.
Come on board - join the ‘band’! Call Chris Walker on 01752 316811
(evenings) for more info.
Now
is the time to book in your friends, your family, or your music
or church group. For tickets or booking forms phone the ticket
hotline 08700 118 008 or visit www.crossrhythms.co.uk/festival/devon.
It’s
only once a year. Don’t miss it!
